Meet Justine
I’m a full-service interior designer, specializing in new construction and furnishings, who is passionate about creating functional, yet beautiful homes with an eclectic nod to coastal living. I serve the Florida panhandle through Gulf Shores, AL as well as nationally, via E-Design and select projects. I currently have 4 new construction projects and am guiding my clients to their dream homes, which means I think, eat, and breathe mood boards, tile samples, building plans, and site visits. Even in my spare time, I love to create and design. My home is constantly undergoing changes. From wallpapering and quarterly area rug swaps to designing built-in shelves and adding a screened-in porch (Florida life) while my husband was deployed (surprise!), my brain is always on the move. I always joke that my brain is only filled with colors and noise. My husband is always wondering when our house will be finished. Little does he know; the answer is never….
“This all plays a role in why I’m the designer I am today and how it led me to fulfill my vision of Jaunty J Interiors.”
I’m a proud army wife and mom to an outspoken, hilarious, and stubborn 2-year-old, as well as two precious fur babies who do not obey (hence the ever-changing area rugs). I graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Science in 2009. I have a dual-focus degree with 2 years of experience in Business and 2 in Interior Design. I’ve also completed my CPO in Project Management. Hailing from Dallas, my background is in luxury interiors, of which I have worked in everything from advertising and marketing for Luxe Interiors + Design magazine, to a stone company that created groundbreaking proprietary technology to change the way that consumers purchase and fabricate stone. This all plays a role in why I’m the designer I am today and how it led me to fulfill my vision of Jaunty J Interiors.
I’ve always loved creating, color and texture, fashion and decor. I knew when I was little that it was my dream to be surrounded by beauty in some form or fashion. Fast forward to post-college, I landed my first big girl job at Luxe Interiors + Design magazine and hit the jackpot. My colleagues from Luxe are still lifelong friends to this day, and I was constantly surrounded by beautiful things, people, and places. This set me on my current trajectory. While I was perfectly happy working in the luxury industry that I loved so much, I always thought that it would be so much fun to start my own business someday. Dallas has so many talented firms and designers that I never really felt the push to do anything at that time. However, after over a decade in the industry, I met and married my love. He happens to be in the army, which relocated us to the Florida panhandle. I saw a huge opportunity to not only follow my dreams, but to help clients that have intentionally chosen the beach life have beautiful, yet functional homes to fit this lifestyle. I made the choice to move forward and never looked back. So far, it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I look forward to being able to grow my business from anywhere that the army takes us, foster amazing relationships with clients, and help create their dream homes for many years to come.
My strengths truly lie in people & design. Listening to people’s differing styles, wants/needs and turning that dream into a reality, is my passion. So, whether you’re here to find a fabulous interior designer, follow along on my wild journey, or find some home and lifestyle inspiration… Welcome, you’re exactly where you need to be.
